Bruni-Mirando
The most unsettling fact about Texas today is most of its cities do not have that distinct "old west" ambiance anymore -- that very factor that purportedly distinguishes Texas from the other states. Dallas is well, at present, more focused on strengthening its economy, and majority of the other Texan cities do the same thing. Good thing, the state still has Bruni-Mirando.
Bruni-Mirando is definitely not as famous or as economically "rich" as Dallas. But for tourists and fans of the old west tradition, the city is a hundred times more interesting. Inside Bruni-Mirando's premises are numerous ranches, windmills and peyote cactus that give the whole area a rustic, dessert, cowboy mood. The area's (along with those others from Webb County) ranching potential was its main attraction for the early Spanish settlers and so, most of the notable landmarks that make up Bruno-Miranda's brand of tourism today are historic ranches, some even, are still operating. These include Yugo Ranch, Albercas Ranch, Piedra Parada Ranch, Billings Ranch, San Jose Ranch, and Shipp Ranch. As said, Bruni-Mirando is also a sanctuary of windmills. If you are visiting the city for the first time, you most definitely should see the following: Cuates Windmill, Upper Windmill, Del Fondo Windmill, Pita Windmill and Ruben Windm
