Brownfield
Brownfield, Texas is a very small city located in Terry County. While it may be a small city, it is still the county seat of Terry. It is located west of Texas. It has a population of less than 10,000.

While there are some speculations on where the city got its name, there are some stories saying that the city got its name from all the red dirt in the city. It is interesting to note that the most noticeable geographical feature of the city is the red dirt in the place, highly noticeable especially during sunrise and sunset; this is due to the fact that the soil in the city experiences high iron oxide content.

The city lives on its farming industry, particularly its cotton industry. The entire South Plains in Brownfield rests entirely on the cotton industry. While this remains to be the backbone of the city, there is also a small oil production industry in the city. However small, it is said to be a very significant part.

There is a huge Hispanic/Lation make-up in the city—making up for some a little over 40% of the town's population. However, there are also other races such as Whites, Native Americans and Asians populating the small city.
