Bridge City
Bridge City, Texas of Orange County, Texas, was originally referred to as Prairie View; it is one of the areas that make up the Beaumont-Port Arthur Metropolitan Statistical Area. The name of the city changed from Prairie View to Bridge City when the Rainbow Bridge (once referred to as the Port Arthur-Orange Bridge) was built, and it was established that in order to get into the city proper, one must cross this bridge or one of the other two bridges that lead into it (the Veteran's Memorial Bridge and the Cow Bayou Bridge). That being said, Bridge City is better known as a bedroom community than anything else meaning that people tend to live there, but work elsewhere. That is not to say that there are no career opportunities in Bridge City, Texas residents could choose to work in schools, medical establishments, or work for the government. But the much of the appeal of Bridge City, Texas, would have to be the fact that it is largely surrounded by water, and could be a hub for bird watching and fishing; water sports are something that a person could easily indulge in when in Bridge City. On top of this, there is also the nature trails and the annual Monarch butterfly migrations to look forward to while in the area. It's certainly a beautiful city ideal for letting loose.
