Belton
Known as part of the Killeen-Temple-Fort Hood Metropolitan Statistical Area, Belton, Texas is also the county seat of the state's Bell County. Belton has very little in terms of claim to fame, but it is known to be associated with the Baptist General Convention of Texas mainly because the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, an educational establishment affiliated with the Convention. Belton is also known as home to two major recreational lakes: Belton Lake and Stillhouse Hollow Lake (one should look up the Belton Lake Outdoor Recreation Area as well as the Summer Fun Water Park) and a number of historic churches. Being the county seat of Bell County, it is also not at all surprising that Belton, Texas is the home of the Bell County Expo Center, an arena that is able to seat more than six and a half thousand people. The Bell County Expo Center is also where visitors could find the Texas Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Fame. Evidently, this city of more than fourteen thousand and six hundred residents is a city that thrives on activity. Belton, Texas may not be as internationally known as some other Texas cities, but it sure as heck could give them a run for their money in wholesome entertainment alone.
