Baytown is a relatively large city situated on Galveston Bay's northern shore, in the middle of east's Trinity River and west's San Jacinto River. The City of Baytown belongs to the counties of Chambers and Harris, and considered as the central city of the Houston Sugarland Baytown metropolitan area. Baytown is popular for being home to major oil refineries in the United States. In the second decade of the 1900s, a drilling operation was made and paved the way to the foundation of the Humble Oil and Refining Company, which today is now among the largest refineries of Exxon-Mobil in the world. Another global and national landmark of the City of Baytown is the Houston Raceway Park which always serves as a venue of National Hot Rod Association, world-renowned motor sports competition.
Baytown is not as industrialized and crowded as other Texas cities like Dallas and Houston, but the city is nevertheless promising in terms of providing modern comforts and latest technologies of urban life.
