Angleton-Rosharon
Angleton is a Texas city and is the county seat of the Brazoria County in Texas, US, situated within the Houston-Sugar Land-Baytown area. The city is strategically placed at the intersection of State Highway 35, State Highway 288, as well as the Union Pacific Railroad.

The city of Angleton was founded near the center of the Brazoria County in 1890. Angleton, the cityÂ’s official name, was taken from the wife of a general manager at the Velasco Terminal Railway. ThatÂ’s one sweet gift, naming a city after your wife.

The schools in the city are overseen by the Angleton Independent School District.

Rosharon, on the other hand, is an unincorporated area within the Brazoria County, somewhere near Angleton city. It is known as Buttermilk Station and lies at the intersection of Farm to Market Road 1462 and Farm to Market Road 521.

ThereÂ’s a story behind the naming of the area Buttermilk. Trainmen say the town came to be known as Buttermilk when an early resident of the area brought a bucket of buttermilk and a dipper each day to give the engineer and his crew a drink. One thing led to another, and the area became known as Buttermilk even to this day.

Rosharon students attend either Angleton ISD or Alvin ISD.
